Part G: Something Was Very, Very Wrong

The taxi sped down the dark, rain-drenched road, its headlights cutting through the mist that had settled over the desolate highway. Inside, Ava, Alan, and Adib sat in stunned silence, their breaths still uneven, their clothes soaked from the storm.

For a while, no one spoke.

The echoes of what had happened in Bhangarh still clung to them like a second skin.

Alan ran a shaky hand through his wet hair and exhaled. “That… That was insane.”

Adib let out a nervous chuckle. “No kidding. I thought we were gonna die back there.”

Ava leaned her head against the seat, staring out at the fading ruins in the distance. Her fingers trembled as she gripped her arms. “We shouldn’t have gone there,” she whispered. “Something is wrong with that place.”

Alan scoffed, still trying to steady his heartbeat. “Wrong? That place is beyond cursed.”

The taxi driver, an older man with a thick mustache and a deep voice, kept his eyes on the road but finally spoke up. “So… you kids really went inside, huh?”

Alan frowned at the sudden question. “Yeah… Why?”

The driver let out a low whistle. “Then tell me—how did you get past Mohon?”

Adib turned to the driver, confused. “Mohon? Who’s Mohon?”

The driver glanced at them in the mirror. “The security guard. He’s been guarding Bhangarh Fort for years. Every night, he locks the gates and doesn’t let anyone in. He says it’s for their own good. No one, not even the locals, dares to stay past sunset.”

A heavy silence fell in the taxi.

Alan’s stomach dropped.

Ava sat up straight, exchanging glances with Adib.

Adib: “We… we didn’t see any security guard.”

The driver’s fingers tightened slightly on the steering wheel. “That’s impossible. Mohon is always there.”

Alan swallowed hard. “Well, we didn’t see him. There was no one at the gate. It was… open.”

The driver’s grip tightened even further. “That’s not right. Mohon would never leave the gates unlocked.”

Ava shivered. “Then who the hell let us in?”

No one had an answer.

A chilling realization crept into their minds.

Alan leaned back against the seat, feeling the weight of exhaustion settle over him.

Something was very, very wrong.

By the time they reached Ava’s house, the first rays of morning sunlight had begun to break through the clouds, casting a golden glow over the drenched streets. The storm had finally passed, leaving the world in a fresh, dewy silence.

The taxi pulled up in front of a grand, two-story house. It was surrounded by a high black gate, and the well-manicured lawn stretched towards a sprawling white mansion with six spacious rooms.

Ava sighed in relief. “Finally.”

Alan and Adib climbed out of the taxi, stretching their sore muscles. The air smelled like wet earth and fresh rain, a stark contrast to the suffocating darkness they had escaped from.

As they walked towards the house, the front door swung open.

A tall, well-dressed man with streaks of gray in his hair and sharp features stood on the porch. Beside him was a warm-looking woman in a soft blue saree, her eyes lighting up as soon as she saw Ava.

Ava’s father.

Ava’s mother.

The moment Ava stepped inside, her mother pulled her into a tight hug. “Oh, sweetheart, you’re soaked! Are you okay? You didn’t tell us you’d be coming home so late.”

Ava forced a smile. “We… we had some issues.”

Her father, however, barely looked at Ava. His eyes were locked on Alan.

A long, studying glance.

Alan hesitated. Why is he looking at me like that?

Then, to his surprise—Ava’s father smiled.

A small, knowing smile.

“So you must be Alan.”

Alan blinked. “Uh… yeah, sir.”

The man nodded approvingly. “Come inside. You must be tired.”

Alan exchanged a confused glance with Ava, who looked equally puzzled.

They followed Ava’s parents into the house, the warmth of the mansion instantly comforting compared to the damp, cold night they had endured.

For the first time in hours, Alan felt safe.

But deep in his mind—something still didn’t sit right.

Chapter 15: The Defiance of a Mortal. Supernatural & Dark Fantasy Manga Web Novel - Crimson High: The Blood Pact by Abrar Nayeem Chowdhury

The Loom trembled. The battlefield was frozen in silence—no wind, no movement, no breath. The Oldest Weaver was gone, unwritten by a force older than existence, a force that now stood face-to-face with the one who had dared to rewrite fate itself. The Forgotten Weaver, formless and eternal, had posed a single question: "Will you give it back?" And now, all of creation waited for Riku Kurobane’s answer. Riku’s fingers curled into fists. His sigil pulsed, not with fear, but with the weight of choice. Kaito and Reina stood far behind him, barely able to stay upright in the gravity of the Forgotten Weaver’s presence. Kaito whispered, stunned: "Riku… You’re actually thinking of saying no?" Reina stepped forward, her voice shaking: "This thing isn’t just powerful—it’s beyond power. You can’t fight it. No one can." But Riku’s gaze didn’t waver. He stared up at the shifting, abstract form of the Forgotten Weaver and exhaled slowly. "I won’t ...

Chapters: 16-25. The Supernatural & Dark Fantasy Manga Web Novel - CRIMSON HIGH: THE BLOOD PACT by Abrar Nayeem Chowdhury

Chapter 16: A Thread to Cut, A Fate to Choose It was, indeed, a scene such as no mortal writer might compose with mere pen and ink—a realm torn asunder by the conflicts of gods and ghosts, of fate's architects and its would-be inheritors. The sky, now stripped of its azure grace, resembled a canvas of pale silk drenched in the remnants of a celestial inkpot. Ragged clouds, frayed at their edges like a lady’s well-worn lace shawl, floated aimlessly overhead, as if the heavens themselves observed this strange theatre of fate with breath held and threads fraying. A bitter wind swept through the ruins of Crimson High, tugging at fractured archways and whistling through the hollowed bones of towers, as if mourning the innocent design the world once bore. The ground lay veiled in soot and memory, and the very air was perfumed by ash and consequence. Riku Kurobane stood at the centre of this desolate court—unmoved by the flickering of time around him, unflinching beneath the unravellin...

The Forbidden Haunts: A Dare into the Darkness – Paranormal Adventure Thriller | Chapter 1: Unraveling the Mystery of Rajasthan’s Bhangarh Fort | Part D: SCREW THIS! WE’RE LEAVING—RIGHT NOW!” | The Best Thriller Novel

Part D: SCREW THIS! WE’RE LEAVING—RIGHT NOW! Alan’s entire body was locked in place. His breath hitched in his throat, his muscles refusing to obey his desperate urge to run. The hand gripping his wrist was ice-cold, its tiny fingers unnaturally tight, as if made of stone. His heartbeat pounded in his ears like a war drum. Thud. Thud. Thud. His vision blurred for a moment, his mind screaming at him to look at whatever had grabbed him. But something deep inside warned him—don’t turn around. Don’t look. Ava and Adib stood frozen, their faces pale as they stared at his arm. Ava: (whispering) "Alan… who is that?" Alan tried to respond, but his voice failed him. The air around him felt heavier like he was sinking into an invisible abyss. Then, the whisper came again. Child’s voice: "Stay with me…" The voice was soft, almost pleading, but there was something off about it—something wrong. It echoed inside his head, distorting like a broken radio signal. Alan’s fingers tw...
