Hey, big developments in the Middle East...
Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah just came out and said they welcome the new US-Iran agreement — but they’re drawing a firm line: no more attacks that “violate national sovereignty.”
In their official statement, Hezbollah congratulated Iran on scoring a “great achievement” and poured on the thanks for making sure the deal included a ceasefire in Lebanon. They called Iran a “truly great ally and a strong supporter” — no surprise there, given their tight relationship.
According to Iran and mediator Pakistan, the agreement (expected to be signed this Friday) should bring an immediate end to fighting on all fronts, including Lebanon. That’s huge, especially after Israeli forces have been clashing with Hezbollah for months — and as recently as Sunday, before the announcement, Israel struck Beirut.
Still, Hezbollah isn’t going quiet. They warned they “will not accept any aggression” and vowed to keep defending their land and people “until the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops and the return of prisoners are achieved.”
So while the deal brings hope for peace, Hezbollah is making it crystal clear: they’re staying ready if things flare up again. Classic “peace but prepared” stance from the group.
