Chapter 1, Part J: The Conclusion of The Mystery.

The shadows shifted around them, and the tension in the air crackled like static electricity. Alan could feel Ava squeeze his hand tighter, but a sudden surge of adrenaline pushed him forward. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his mobile phone.

"Alright, everyone," Alan said, adopting an exaggerated tone, almost theatrical. "Mom, I'm here in Bhangarh, and guess what? I've fallen in love with a ghost." He paused dramatically, pretending to hold the phone closer. "Yeah! She’s right in front of me. Wanna talk? Okay, talk to her. Mom, she says she’s my future wife!"

His voice echoed through the dark corridor, laughter and disbelief mingling in the air. But the response wasn’t laughter. The ghost woman, her features barely visible in the dim light, actually stepped back, surprise flickering in her pitch-black eyes.

Then Alan grinned. “You thought I was a fool?” His voice was steady, now filled with bravado. “Ghosts are untouchable, right? But if you’re a ghost, how the hell did I just touch you?”

Before she could react, Alan swung his hand back and slapped her once again.

The ghost woman stumbled, a look of bewilderment spreading across her face. “Wait—”

Alan stepped closer, fire in his eyes, and pushed her back to the ground. “What’s your game?”

The air felt electric, crackling with the tension of the moment. Ava and Adib watched, their breath caught in their throats, unsure of what would happen next.

The ghost woman looked up, a flicker of fear crossing her features, and finally gasped out the truth. “Okay, okay! You don’t understand! It’s my business to scare people, to kidnap them… to earn money!”

Alan stared in disbelief as an uncomfortable silence enveloped them.

“Kidnap? Earn money?” Adib’s mouth fell open, and he was unable to mask his shock. “You’re not even a ghost!”

“Just a marketing strategy gone wrong,” she grumbled, brushing herself off as she feigned nonchalance, but Alan could see the tremble in her hands.

But the air was suddenly filled with a rustling sound behind them. They barely had a moment to process this revelation when a night guard in a tattered uniform, suddenly stepped from behind a wall, eyes blazing with rage. He lunged for Alan.

“Get away from her!” the guard shouted, swinging a flashlight.

But just as the guard advanced, Adib sprinted forward, taking action. He landed a solid kick to the guard's midsection, causing him to double over with a grunt.

“Nice kick!” Alan shouted, appreciating the quick thinking of his friend.

They quickly caught the guard, immobilizing him as best as they could. Adib struck first, throwing the guard to the ground, while Alan and Ava grabbed lengths of rope tied to a nearby tree used for fortification.

“Help me tie him!” Alan yelled, urgency painting his voice. Adib complied, securing the guard’s hands behind his back while Ava kept watch.

Once they secured the night guard to the tree, Alan turned to the fake ghost woman, who was still sitting on the ground, partially dazed from Alan's encounters. “What’s your real name?” he asked.

“Anjali,” she admitted, flinching slightly.

Alan straightened, finally feeling a sense of control washing over him. “Anjali, you’ve put everyone here at risk. You’re scaring people with these tricks.”

“I needed the money!” Anjali protested, her voice still shaky. “The stories around here, they bring tourists, and I just… I needed to survive!”

Alan shook his head, considering the implications of her words. “Alright, then. We’re not going to let you get away with this.”

Ava stepped back, a phone pressed to her side. “I’ll call the police. They need to know what’s happening here.”

While Ava dialed, Alan looked at Adib. “Make sure he doesn’t try anything funny,” he said, nodding toward the tied guard.

Once Ava relayed their predicament to authorities, she hung up. “They’ll be here soon,” she said, glancing nervously around, still aware they were in a haunted fort.

Alan’s heart raced. “We need to stay vigilant until help arrives,” he stated firmly.

As they waited, a sense of confusion began to settle in the cooling night air. The threat of the unexplained hung like a veil over them, a lingering reminder of the terror they had experienced just hours before.

Then the shadows shifted once more.

Adib squinted into the dark. “Did you hear that?”

The three turned their attention to a movement at the edge of their vision—a flicker. Alan tightened the grip on the rope, ready for anything.

“Stay back!” he warned, eyeing the darkness, adrenaline surging as old instincts kicked back in.

But Anjali merely scoffed. “You think I’m the one to be afraid? An inexperienced guard and a bunch of tourists?”

A sound echoed through the air—an inhuman, guttural growl. Then, a horrible laughter rang out, as if the spirits of Bhangarh had summoned.

Alan’s pulse thundered in his ears. “Whatever’s hiding in these shadows isn’t done with us,” Alan warned, his voice suddenly graves.

As he scanned their surroundings, the air thickened. It felt like the fort was coming alive, shadows shifting ominously around them. There was something darker lurking just beyond their sight, waiting to reclaim control in a place that was never meant to be disturbed.

Suddenly, Anjali’s smug facade cracked. She looked back toward the shadows, her confidence waning. “What’s happening?” she muttered, fear now creeping into her voice.

Then the air exploded with chaos. Shadows morphed and twisted, real and tangible, springing forth from the depths of Bhangarh Fort, leaving no doubt that the true supernatural terror they had initially encountered wasn’t far behind.

“Get behind me!” Alan yelled, instinctively placing himself in front of Ava and Adib, fists clenched and ready to fight against whatever horror awaited.

The night had only just begun, and as the figures closed in, Alan knew—they were once again trapped in a nightmare far worse than they could have ever imagined.

Suddenly, the blaring of police sirens pierced through the chilling atmosphere, slicing through the tension like a hot knife through butter. Alan's heart raced as a rush of adrenaline ignited within him. He turned toward the shadows, bravely shouting, “You idiots!”

As he did, he caught sight of another fake ghost woman, her face a mask of panic as she, along with the other impostors, began to scatter wildly upon hearing the sirens. They disappeared into the darker corners of the fort as if the very ground had opened up to swallow them whole.

Moments later, the police arrived in a flurry of lights and sounds. Officers leaped from their vehicles, weapons drawn, ready for action. They quickly assessed the scene, taking in the two criminals tied up and the panic-stricken trio—Adib, Ava, and Alan.

Adib took a breath and pointed an accusatory finger at the restrained criminals. “Inspector, you have to understand! There are more of them! They’ve been involved in scaring tourists and even kidnapping for money!” His voice was filled with urgency, and he could feel the weight of their harrowing experience clawing at him.

But before anyone could respond, a gunshot rang out, echoing hauntingly through the ruins.

“ALAN!!!” Adib screamed, his heart dropping into his stomach as he instinctively turned to run toward where Alan had been standing, now hidden in shadows and confusion.

“Stay down!” shouted one of the officers, but the chaos had already erupted, and Adib's feet carried him forward as the inspector rushed after him.

Panic filled the air, and in an instant, Adib spotted Alan lying motionless on the ground, clutching his side. Ava dashed over, fear written all over her face. “Alan!” she cried, kneeling beside him, the tears brimming in her eyes.

“Inspector! Help him!” she pleaded, her voice breaking as she grasped Alan’s shoulder.

The inspector, realizing the severity of the situation, quickly called for an ambulance, urgency lacing his voice. “We need medical assistance now!”

As the sound of approaching sirens filled the air, Ava’s expression shifted from panic to horror. She glanced down at Alan, whose face was wan, and she could see that he was bleeding. “Please, Alan, stay with us!” she begged, her heart pounding painfully against her chest.

The ambulance arrived swiftly, and paramedics rushed over, lifting Alan onto a stretcher. One of them examined his injuries—one shot had struck his body, but fortunately, the other had missed. Time felt like it was moving in slow motion.

“I’m scared,” Ava whispered, tears spilling down her cheeks as she turned to the inspector. “What if he doesn’t make it?”

The inspector reassured her as best he could, calling ahead to the hospital and ensuring they would be ready for Alan’s arrival. “We’re doing everything we can. Just hold on.”

As the ambulance doors closed, Alan was whisked away, leaving Ava trembling with anguish. The inspector did his best to comfort her, but the worry etched in her heart was too heavy. She desperately wanted to be with Alan, her feelings for him wrapping around her like vines, growing stronger in this moment of fear.

Meanwhile, with the chaos still unfolding, the police turned their attention toward the two captured criminals, still bound under the trees. The inspector called for backup to ensure the fort’s safety.

In the midst of it all, Ava, still filled with emotion, suddenly proclaimed, “Wait, Inspector!” She marched a few steps closer to the fake ghost woman, now visibly shaken, and without hesitation, she slapped her twice, pushing her roughly to the ground. “You deserve this, you bloody motherf—”

Two officers quickly intervened, grabbing Ava by the arms. “That’s enough!” one of them called. “You can’t do that!”

The criminals were shoved unceremoniously into a police van, their faces twisted with disbelief.

As Adib climbed into the ambulance alongside Alan, the vehicle pulled away swiftly down the road, leaving Ava standing alone in the chaos. Watching her friends disappear into the night made her feel more desperate than she ever had before.

With resolve building within her, Ava recounted the entire story to the inspector and the gathered officers. “You have to do something,” she pleaded. “You can’t let them get away with this!”

The inspector nodded seriously, turning to his team. “We’ll need backup to ensure that Bhangarh Fort is sealed off for everyone’s safety.”

With the radio communications activated, nearly 600 police officers, along with four helicopters, were dispatched to the fort, ready to address whatever threat still lingered within its walls.

Just as the police took action, ominous gunfire rang out once again from hidden corners of the fort. The officers sprang into position, setting up protective barriers and preparing for the unknown.

Suddenly, a helicopter shot through the air, and in an astonishing display, the police commissioner jumped from it, landing gracefully near the fort entrance, his silhouette formidable against the rising moon.

He charged forward, foot soldiers flanking him, and in an incredible show of authority, he kicked one of the posing fake ghost terrorists to the ground, swiftly arresting him.

“Secure the area!” he yelled, directing his officers as chaos turned into high-stakes action. As the commotion heightened, police captured the remaining terrorists who had been orchestrating the schemes designed to frighten tourists.

Before long, Ava realized her chance to leave. In a flurry of emotions, she managed to hail a taxi, urgency propelling her. Tears streamed down her face as she clutched her phone, whispering a desperate prayer for Alan’s recovery.

As the taxi sped away from the tumult at the fort, Ava wrestled with confusion and pain. The thought of Alan, injured and alone, churned in her heart. At that moment, she came to the realization, that maybe there was something more than friendship. Maybe it was love?

The taxi rolled through the quiet streets, the world outside seeming vastly different from the chaotic fight back at Bhangarh. In the distance, she could still hear the fading echoes of police sirens as she journeyed onward, determination coursing through her veins to be by Alan’s side—no matter the cost.

Ava rushed into the hospital, her heart racing as she scanned the waiting area, desperate to catch a glimpse of Adib. She found him sitting by a corner, his head buried in his hands, clearly exhausted and worried.

“Adeeb!” she called softly, moving towards him.

He looked up, his eyes reflectively tired but brightening slightly at the sight of her. “Ava!” he exclaimed, standing up and pulling her into a brief hug.

“Where’s Alan?” she asked urgently, voice trembling. “Is he okay?”

Adib inhaled sharply, a shadow flicking across his face. “He’s in the operation theater. They’re working on him.”

Ava’s heart sank. She looked down, wiping fresh tears from her eyes. “How long has it been?”

“It’s been about an hour and a half. They said the operation would take some time,” Adib replied, trying to sound reassuring. “The doctors are optimistic.”

She nodded, a lump forming in her throat. The waiting felt interminable. “I can’t believe this is happening,” she whispered, wiping her tear-stained cheeks.

Adib placed a hand on her shoulder. “He’s a fighter, just like you. He’ll pull through. I need to go to the bank for some cash to cover the operation,” he said, his eyes softening. “I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

Ava sat down in the waiting area, tearfully tapping her foot against the floor as the minutes ticked by. She felt helpless, consumed by the weight of worry and fear, hoping that Alan was alright.

After what felt like an eternity, a doctor finally emerged from the operating room. “Ava!” he called out, catching her eye. She shot up from her seat, her heart pounding.

“Is he okay?” she asked breathlessly.

The doctor nodded, a small smile of relief breaking through. “The operation was successful. We’ve kept him in observation for the moment. He's stable and will be moved to a cabin shortly.”

Ava felt the heaviness lift just a little, the tears of anxiety she had been holding back overflowing with gratitude. “Thank you so much,” she whispered.

The doctor smiled warmly. “He’s going to need some time to recover, but he’ll be just fine. You can see him soon.”

After another hour, the doctor guided her to Alan's cabin. As she stepped inside, her heart swelled at the sight of him lying peacefully in bed, still pale but breathing steadily. Machines beeped rhythmically in the background.

She pulled a chair close, crying silently yet smiling through her tears. Time fell away as she just watched him, overwhelmed with emotions.

Then, without warning, she saw Alan's hand quiver slightly. She leaned forward, anticipation quickening her breath. His eyes fluttered open, slowly bringing him back into the world.

Upon seeing Ava, Alan simply gazed at her, taking in her tear-streaked face. He didn't speak, but the warmth in his eyes said enough—relief, love, gratitude.

“Hey,” she whispered, a soft beaming smile breaking through her tears. “You scared us, you know?”

He shifted slightly, offering a faint smile in return, even though it was weak. Ava sniffled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear as she continued to watch him, happiness blooming in her chest.

Four Days Later...

Finally discharged, Alan stepped out of the hospital, albeit with some support. He was still recovering, but Ava and Adib flanked him, their joy palpable in the air.

As they exited, they were greeted by Inspector Shankar Babu. Wearing a relieved smile, he stepped forward, extending his hand to Alan. “I’m glad to see you up and about.”

“Thank you for everything,” Alan replied, his voice still hoarse but full of appreciation. “I owe you my life.”

Inspector Babu nodded, his expression turning serious. “I’m happy to say we successfully arrested everyone involved in the scheme, including the night guard and the fake ghosts. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan has announced a reward of one lakh rupees for each of you for your bravery and survival.”

“What?” Adib exclaimed, eyes wide.

Ava wrapped her arms around Alan, careful not to squeeze too hard. “You made it through, Alan! We did it!” she said excitedly, pulling away to look at him.

Adib joined in, enfolding them both in a soft hug. “Together!” he cheered, his voice lifting with vibrant excitement.

The weight of fear burdened them slowly lifted, replaced by a bond forged in adversity. They had faced the horrors together, and somehow, they had triumphed.

They realized that in this incredible chaos, they had found something extraordinary—survival, friendship, and strength. The future now felt bright, and they allowed themselves to truly feel hope for the first time in days.

Chapter 15: The Defiance of a Mortal. Supernatural & Dark Fantasy Manga Web Novel - Crimson High: The Blood Pact by Abrar Nayeem Chowdhury

The Loom trembled. The battlefield was frozen in silence—no wind, no movement, no breath. The Oldest Weaver was gone, unwritten by a force older than existence, a force that now stood face-to-face with the one who had dared to rewrite fate itself. The Forgotten Weaver, formless and eternal, had posed a single question: "Will you give it back?" And now, all of creation waited for Riku Kurobane’s answer. Riku’s fingers curled into fists. His sigil pulsed, not with fear, but with the weight of choice. Kaito and Reina stood far behind him, barely able to stay upright in the gravity of the Forgotten Weaver’s presence. Kaito whispered, stunned: "Riku… You’re actually thinking of saying no?" Reina stepped forward, her voice shaking: "This thing isn’t just powerful—it’s beyond power. You can’t fight it. No one can." But Riku’s gaze didn’t waver. He stared up at the shifting, abstract form of the Forgotten Weaver and exhaled slowly. "I won’t ...

Chapters: 16-25. The Supernatural & Dark Fantasy Manga Web Novel - CRIMSON HIGH: THE BLOOD PACT by Abrar Nayeem Chowdhury

Chapter 16: A Thread to Cut, A Fate to Choose It was, indeed, a scene such as no mortal writer might compose with mere pen and ink—a realm torn asunder by the conflicts of gods and ghosts, of fate's architects and its would-be inheritors. The sky, now stripped of its azure grace, resembled a canvas of pale silk drenched in the remnants of a celestial inkpot. Ragged clouds, frayed at their edges like a lady’s well-worn lace shawl, floated aimlessly overhead, as if the heavens themselves observed this strange theatre of fate with breath held and threads fraying. A bitter wind swept through the ruins of Crimson High, tugging at fractured archways and whistling through the hollowed bones of towers, as if mourning the innocent design the world once bore. The ground lay veiled in soot and memory, and the very air was perfumed by ash and consequence. Riku Kurobane stood at the centre of this desolate court—unmoved by the flickering of time around him, unflinching beneath the unravellin...

Part D: SCREW THIS! WE’RE LEAVING—RIGHT NOW! Alan’s entire body was locked in place. His breath hitched in his throat, his muscles refusing to obey his desperate urge to run. The hand gripping his wrist was ice-cold, its tiny fingers unnaturally tight, as if made of stone. His heartbeat pounded in his ears like a war drum. Thud. Thud. Thud. His vision blurred for a moment, his mind screaming at him to look at whatever had grabbed him. But something deep inside warned him—don’t turn around. Don’t look. Ava and Adib stood frozen, their faces pale as they stared at his arm. Ava: (whispering) "Alan… who is that?" Alan tried to respond, but his voice failed him. The air around him felt heavier like he was sinking into an invisible abyss. Then, the whisper came again. Child’s voice: "Stay with me…" The voice was soft, almost pleading, but there was something off about it—something wrong. It echoed inside his head, distorting like a broken radio signal. Alan’s fingers tw...
